Strasburg had a career year in 2019, helping pitch his team the Nationals to a World Series championship with two victories which garnered him the World Series MVP. During the regular season, Strasburg had career highs in inning pitched (209), wins (18) and strikeouts (251). This rare Strasburg rookie auto is a randomly inserted autograph card from the 2008 Upper Deck Team USA set. Only 175 of these GOLD autos were signed by Strasburg. To date, only TWO of the gold autos have graded out to be BGS 9.5 GEM MINT!! Due to the packaging of the sets, it's doubtful there will be another GEM MINT graded auto. Many of the autos from this set had chipped corners.
