Description: This is a sterling silver 5-Piece Hostess Set in the French Provincial pattern (1948) from Towle Silver. The set consists of: 1 Modern Hollow Knife -- 8 7/8 inches.1 Fork -- 7 1/4 inches.1 Individual Salad Fork -- 6 3/8 inches.1 Teaspoon -- 6 inches.The pieces in this set are in Very Good to Excellent Used Condition with very few signs of use, and there are NO monograms or engravings. Three of these pieces are solid sterling silver weighing 118 grams, but the knife has a hollow sterling handle weighing an ESTIMATED 20 grams. Nothing is known of the history of these serving pieces. They have been inspected and given a good shine with a polishing cloth.
