Description: CHAOS! RULES...and so did Steven Hughes LADY DEATH & EVIL ERNIE - A match made in hell! When someone in the office saw this set of EVIL ERNIE cards roll in, they suggested we do a Steven Hughes tribute with the Lady Death by Steven Hughes one shot...and we couldn't have agreed more. Truly a match made in -- nevermind, we already said that... CHAOS! broke the mold. Tho now defunct, they were one of the pioneer outliers of the macabre side of comics. Brian Pulido, along with Steven Hughes as CHAOS! key artist made such greats as Lady Death, Evil Ernie, and Detonator. They created licensed comics back in the day for the WWF and even worked with such bands as ICP. And for those of you that don't really know the connection between Lady Death and Evil Ernie, well, Lady Death promised the undead Ernest Fairchild in the Endless Graveyard to love him forever if he would allow her to revive him and do her one teeny tiny favor... WIPE EVERY BREATHING THING FROM EARTH. Lady Death was quite the sexy and seductive one, so of course Ernie obliged. And...why, did Lady Death want all of humanity vaporized? Well, let's just say its a father/daughter tragedy you'll need to read to unravel. Unfortunately, in 1997 CHAOS! ran into some plagiarism issues that ultimately led to their bankruptcy in 2002. The rights to several of their characters fell into many different hands prior to finally landing at DYNAMITE (which we think is an excellent fit!). But Lady Death - being the Queen of Hell - managed to escape all that and ultimately land right back in the hands of Brian Pulido over at Coffin Comics. Talk about magnets for each other... For those of you out there interested in reading up more on the tumultuous chaos behind CHAOS! end, we found a wonderful article for you to read up on:https://www.comicsonline.com/2015/12/the-rise-fall-and-resurrection-chaos/ Sadly, Steven passed from cancer back in 2000. Luckily, however, all of the chaos of CHAOS!' bankruptcy took place after his passing. His was a special - very particular - style of art that is immediately recognized and quite often still mimicked today. One doesn't have to look much farther than IRON MAIDEN and MEGADETH album covers to find his influence. ______________________________________ Disclaimers and other info:- don't take our word for it, see pics for true condition- comic book will be bag and boarded and sent in a Gemini shipper- wanna combine shipping? just let us know!- We like satisfied customers and strive to keep it that way- That being said, if you like what you receive, we'd really appreciate a positive review!
