Description: What began as a family operation in the mid-1940s, the Ysart family, Salvador and his two sons Augustine and Vincent started the Ysart Brothers Studio in the area of Perth, Scotland. In the mid 1950’s after the passing of Salvador and the oldest brother Augustine, Vincent merged his company with the operator of Pirelli Glass and renamed the operation Yasart. The company ran about eight more years before it was bought out by another firm at which time the company was renamed Strathearn in 1964. Strathearn Glass Co produced numerous object de art including beautiful paperweights until 1980 at which time it was purchased by Stuart Glass and ceased production of paperweights. During their highlight years, the Strathearn Works produced many awesome designs in the field of paperweights in unlimited color combinations. These examples often had paper labels, many of which have long since been lost. Typical bold colors with pastel highlights creates a striking work of art with this Strathearn weight. The color contrast really sets this example apart from the norm. Measuring 2 1/4” diameter and 1 1/2” in height, the piece comes with its original label. An excellent original condition showing no damage or repairs. A wonderful paperweight to highlight any collection. Please view all pictures as they are considered part of the description. Please check back to my listings often as I will be posting numerous fine examples of glass, pottery and porcelain in the near future. Thank you.
