Description: SUNNY YELLOW & WHITE KITCHEN SET. Hand Crocheted. Set consists of Hot Pad (Jumbo Potholder) and Coffee Cup with Saucer that could serve as a cover for a Planter or Candy Dish. This set will brighten up your ho-hum wintry kitchen and brighten it with sunny yellow and sparkling white. The hot pad is a generous 8" square and is double thick joined in white trim with a white crocheted hook for hanging. The other piece is a cup and saucer combination that is predominantly white with scalloped edges of sunny yellow. Diameter of the saucer is approx 6". The attached cup has a diameter of approx. 3-1/2" and approx. 3" high (items made with yarn stretch) and would lend itself to holding a container to hold a plant (real or artificial) or some candy. Placed on a window sill or as a centerpiece on the kitchen table it's bound to be an eye catcher. The white yarn in the "coffee cup" has a sparkle while the yarn in the hot pad is regular as is the yellow on both items. I found this in my mother's estate packed away in a cedar chest. The likely scenario is that she won it as a door prize at a retiree luncheon. Typically, she smiled and then came home and stowed it away with everything else she was saving for sometime later. I wish it fit my color scheme but it doesn't. The set needs to go to a home where it can be appreciated.
