Description: This is a Sunset (Samhongsa) brass HO scale ATSF 3700 Class 4-8-2. The model is essentially "new" in the box and is unused aside from a quick track test. The condition is overall excellent with the only problem being that the coating has been stained by the red foam, which is a common problem for Samhongsa-made brass of this era. There's also a burn mark in the coating on the left side of the tender where a repair may have been done. Beyond that, all parts of the bodies for both the engine and tender are in great shape! All extras are also included. The original rubber drive tubing was completely dried out and had to be replaced. Quality silicone tubing was used to make sure it will last for a long time without fail. The wire to the drawbar was also resoldered since the original solder joint was weak and quickly came loose. I also installed the boiler weight for testing and left it in since it's an unbelievable pain to get it aligned and screwed in place. The mechanism is fully spring and equalized and runs extremely smoothly and quietly! Please note though, due to the scale details between the engine and tender, a wide radius (at least 24", possibly larger) is needed to prevent short circuits. The original red foam is still soft and doesn't show any signs of disintegrating, but be sure to wear gloves when handling it to keep ink stains off your hands. I'll be sure to have the model shipped out no more than a couple days after purchase!
