Description: When artist Caroline Boydston was at a Breyerfest event years ago, an older lady looked at her finished pieces and asked her if she be interested in doing a portrait of her horse. That lady turned out to be racehorse owner Penny Tweedy and her horse was none other than the amazing SECRETARIAT! Her friend and fellow artist, Kitty Cantrell, sculpted the infamous thoroughbred and Caroline painted every model with the most intricate details from chestnut spot on his star to the dark blue in his pupil (a horse's pupil is not black : ) The artists' realistic portrayal can be seen in muscles and veins on his body as well as the depth of colors in his shimmering coat which may not be captured in these photos like they are in real life. A true prize for anyone who is a collector or fan of Secretariat. Only 48 were made when he was released for sale on the official Secretariat website back in 2009 and sold out quickly. It would be hard to find any for sale on the secondary market now so here's your chance to own a piece of Secretariat history. The model measures ~13" x 8" with a removable base. He is made out of a resin material and is in excellent condition. Any questions, just ask as all sales are final. I will be listing more of my Secretariat collection so keep checking back. Shipping is based on location. He will be sent priority mail, insured which is the extra handling fee of $62. If there is a gross over payment for shipping cost on eBay's end, I will let the buyer know and refund the difference after he ships. Free local pick up near Ocala, FL.
