Description: Fantastic animation cel of Superman from the third season of the Superfriends which debuted in 1978 as The Challenge of the Superfriends. The cel also comes with a photocopied background. This is an original animation cel that was drawn, painted, and photographed by the artists at Hanna-Barbera during production of the series. This cel was just one frame of the 24 that made up one second of animation. There is a lot to love about this cel. The image of Superman is a whopping 9" x 5". We see Superman in a slightly different look with rolled up sleeves and his cape placed completely around his neck and tied with a buckle. Also new boots which were cool in 1978. He is holding a movie script in one hand and a sword in the other. The cel comes from the episode: The Rise and Fall of the Super Friends The Super Friends are visited by Mister Mxyzptlk, who comes complete with a script for a movie that he wants the Super Friends to star in whether they want to or not. The imp uses his Fifth Dimensional magic to cause the Super Friends to act out the script...but Superman is not affected by it. He nonetheless goes along with everything in an elaborate plot to trick Mxyzptlk into saying his name backwards — by using his heat vision to change the last word on the script. This cel is in great condition with the paint and outlines almost completely intact. Please look carefully at all the photos for any imperfections before purchasing.
