Description: For sale is this 1st printing of McCarthy’s 4th novel in its UK printing which is extraordinarily uncommon. Maybe the most uncommon of all the UK printings and/or the US printings. It has an Unclipped dust jacket as well which given the fragility of the jacket, it’s lucky to find a complete copy. This shouldn’t last long at this price as these copies RARELY come up for sale as they are in the serious McCarthy collectors personal library… London: Chatto & Windus, 1980. First UK edition. Octavo. 471 PP. Photo illustrated dust jacket. Black and yellow boards stamped in gilt with the Random House stamped to the base of the spine, as with all of the British first editions. Unclipped, dust jacket, chipped along the edges with loss to the base of spine. General rubbing and light spotting. Boards, worn along edges with brief exposure. Corners lightly bumped, patch of light discoloration at the bottom of the spine, binding is sound. Spotting to edges of text block, heavier to top, with light foxing to end papers. Bookseller sticker to front paste down. Pages otherwise unmarked. Overall a very good copy and a good to very good dust jacket.
