Description: I have for sale a 19th century Swedish medal that I have no exact information about. The medal is bronze, it is 1 7/8 inches in diameter and in uncirculated condition. Lea Ahlborn was the medalist who in 1853 succeeded her father Ludwig Persson Lundgren as the engraver at the Swedish mint until she died in 1895. Ahlborn engraved the dies for coinage of Sweden and Norway and executed many medals. This medal on the obverse shows a seated female with a cycle in one hand and wheat in the other. Next to her there are two shields and in the background there are agricultural and industrial symbols. On the reverse inside a wreath it reads UPPMUNTRAN - AF - VESTERNORRLANDS - LANS - KONGL - HUSHALLNINGS - SALLSKAP. This medal also came in a red case with the name inside E. Svensson - Guldsmedsaffar - Odengalan 38 - Stockholm. The case has some wear and it is not know if this is the original case for this medal. Please see more in my EBAY STORE at TE Collectables.
