Description: This auction is for SWEETDREAMS AND MOONBEAMS FROM FANCIFUL DREAMERS BY ANN TIMMERMAN. This beautiful doll is 10" seated. Porcelain doll with delicate, dreamy face. Her head, arms and legs are made of fine bisque porcelain and hand painted. Her gown is a swirl of velveteen and chiffon with glimmering hand sewn beads and stars. Fanciful moon stand that she sits upon is a soft sculpture of shining gold fabric, crowned with a cap of deep blue velveteen. It looks like a stuffed animal type moon, yet it is very heavy and solid for her to sit upon. Doll measures 12 inches in height and moon measures 15 inches in height. She was issued in 1995 from the Georgetown Collection. Her neck is signed by the artist. She will NOT come in her original box – it’s long gone – nor does she haver her Certificate of Authenticity. She’s definitely not minty new out of the box but then again – she doesn’t retail for $125, either. (I have the invoice. That’s what I paid. I’m the buy high, sell low queen.) No breaks or cracks in her porcelain that I see. A gold string might have detached from the moon because I can’t figure out how to tie her in safely seated there (I tested in the 16th percentile – do you realize how stupid that is? – in spatial reasoning so I don’t even attempt feats of calculation how to tie a doll down with a string.) I’m offering her for a very low opening bid, hoping somebody out there is looking for something just like this. These are photos of the doll that you will actually receive.
