THIS ITEM DOES NOT FIT THE COUPE. The version of these vehicles designated as "Wagon" or "Sport Wagon" has a taller roof, long pop out side windows, and a more vertical rear window. The common name among owners is "Wagonback" or "Wagon Back". Ebay appears to have the Impulse version of this car designated as a "Hatchback" or "Hatch Back". THIS ITEM FITS THE WAGON OR SPORT WAGON. Water In Trunk? Finding water in the trunk of your 1989-1993 Geo Storm Wagon, 1990-1993 Isuzu Impulse Wagon, 1992-1993 Asuna Sunfire Wagon, or 1990-1993 Isuzu Gemini Wagon? Symptoms include wet carpeting, water marks on the fiber board carpet subfloor panel, evaporated puddle marks on the tops of the tail light housings inside the trunk, and the spare tire floating in the tire well. Chances are that the original sponge rubber tail light gaskets have long ago decayed and turned to dust and the water is just pouring into the car around the tail lights. Half the water that falls on the roof and all of the water that falls on the rear window is channeled around the raised trunk seal in the trunk jamb, and all of that water flows directly over the tops of the tail lights, before it finally exits the car and flows down the tailgate and over rear bumper. The original sponge rubber seals do not age well. They have a rather unique way of degrading. Ozone and time turn the exposed sides white with cracking. Meanwhile, the edges exposed to the outside elements will continually melt and re-harden, turn rock hard at the edge, pebble, and fall away. Left long enough and the edge will erode back under the edge of the tail light seal leaving a gaping crack for water to enter the vehicle. And as a secondary bonus, as the rubber erodes beneath the tail light sealing edge, the part that has melted and re-hardened will stick to the rear body panel in a diamond hard resin crust that can't be removed without also removing the paint. After 20+ years, they don't provide any water seal at all. That water starts puddling in the trunk and doesn't drain. Sometimes this causes a high level of humidity in the car, and the windows always fog up in cool weather. The driver has to constantly switch back and forth between defrost and heat, trying to keep the windows clear enough to see through and the interior temperature warm enough to prevent frost bite. Eventually, that water starts causing rust holes in the floor of the trunk, around the tailgate, and in the rear wheel arches. Isuzu discontinued these gaskets around 2005. Description This is a pair of tail light gaskets. I would like to say that they are "reproductions", but no one has ever seen one of the original gaskets. They are not available from Isuzu, and all of the ones ever installed on vehicles rotted away a long time ago. We created this gasket design from scratch, using the OEM Wagon tail lights as a pattern, matching all the seal surfaces, bolt holes, and alignment tabs. These are sold in pairs, one for the left side and one for the right side. The pattern has been carefully measured and created in autocad. These gaskets are made of high density closed cell polyethylene foam. This material has been adopted by many car manufacturers since the 1990's, because it is superior to sponge rubber in resistance to ozone and other contaminants, has low water absorption, and has the ability to maintain its shape and sponginess for many years longer than sponge rubber.
