Description: This is an 8 1/2 by 11 original poster created in 2002 commemorating the second of three engagements of the folk rock band The Ashes at Frenchy's night club in Hayward, California, in the spring of 1966. The Ashes were a Los Angeles based 5 piece folk rock band formed in September, 1965, that included Spencer Dryden, who later left the band to join Jefferson Airplane, and Barbara "Sandi" Robison, who later was a lead performer in Los Angeles's cast of Hair. Three of The Ashes, including Sandi, went on to be the writing and vocal core of the psychedelic rock band The Peanut Butter Conspiracy, which formed in August of 1966 and later performed in shows with The Doors, Big Brother and the Holding Company, The Animals, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Clear Light, Steve Miller Blues Band, Jim Kweskin, and many others.
