Description: The cookbook “The Sunshine in my Kitchen” is the 50th Anniversary cookbook of the Colorado Cattlewomen as “Over the last fifty years thousands of Cowbelles and CattleWomen have given of their time and talents to support their husbands, their families, each other and the cattle industry of Colorado”. Published in 1992 by Cookbook Publishers of Olathe, Kansas these “favorite” recipes promote eating Colorado Beef and the way of life of these cattlewomen. The main dividers between the recipe sections are a western rope lasso and the cover artwork was done by Barbara East. Still a thriving organization today the Colorado Cattlewomen have been active in beef promotion since 1941 and are the oldest women’s beef advocacy group in Colorado. Their “passion is bridging the rural and urban divide to bring Colorado’s beef families and consumers together”. Today's Colorado CattleWomen (CCW) is a non-profit organization with the mission to educate, promote and protect Colorado's ranching families and the beef they produce. Sustainability, environmental stewardship, animal welfare and nutrition are just a part of the conversation in today’s beef world, and CattleWomen are leading the beef community educating on and off the ranch the impact cattle have on the bounty and beauty that is Colorado.
