I get at least something out of every handicapping book that I read, this book gave me a lot of great ideas and thoughts. I bought on Kindle as print version wasn’t available, I would like the print version to be in my library forever. Buy & read this one, you wont be disappointed. Good books on thoroughbred handicapping, in my opinion, are books you will re-visit again if not re-read cover-to-cover. Like books by Ainslie, Quinn, and Davidowitz, I think Fornatale's "The Winning Contest Player" is in that category. I particularly liked the section on race handicapping towards the end of the book , in which the horseplayers interviewed for the book, gave their insights on how to identify the winning horse in a race. It was valuable insight separate from the discussion on contest strategy. I recommend this book be added to your reading list if you enjoy the track, the challenge of picking the winning horse, and, most importantly, making the right bet Although aimed at contest players, this book contained a lot of very helpful information that the average handicapper can use to his benefit. It changed the way I look at some things and improved my understanding of handicapping techniques. Excellent advice and insight from top tournament players. This book covers all aspects of tournament play. When I first started playing in online tournaments I noticed the same players consistently atop the leader boards. Some of those players are interviewed in this book. Very helpful info for the aspiring tournament player Excellent book. Great insight by many of the top contest players. Not only is there much information about the strategy to use in the various contest Told from the contest players perspectives in an interview style. I lot of it was repetitive however solid information and tips for anyone considering playing handicapping contests i got this book prior to entering my 1st live tourney. there were many significant insights which allowed me to be competitive in that tourney & subsequently in a # of online tourney
