Description: Theodore Roosevelt III [1887 1944] was a American politician, statesman, businessman and U.S Army general who was the recipient of the Medal of Honor and the eldest son of President Theodore Roosevelt. Roosevelt was instrumental in the forming of the American Legion in 1919 and served as the Governor of Puerto Rico and the Governor-General of the Philippines. Roosevelt died in France during World War II, one month after leading the first wave of troops onto Utah Beach during the Normandy landings in 1944, earning him the Medal of Honor. Listed for auction is a [TLS] typed letter signed by Theodore Roosevelt III on his personal letterhead, Theodore Roosevelt Oyster Bay, Long Island and dated September 26, 1927. The letter is a response to an invitation and is signed ''Theodore Roosevelt'' in black fountain pen. The letter measures 7.25 x 11.00 inches, it has expected mail folds otherwise it is in fine condition. The autograph is authentic, and the letter is a nice example of this noted statesman and Medal of Honor recipient.
