Thermo King TK 3.70 Diesel Engine Cylinder Head Yanmar Truck Reefer Unit (Core)

Description: Cylinder Head salvaged from a TK 3.70 Yanmar Diesel taken from an MD200. This came off a hard to start and running rough once started engine. Some water got into the combustion chamber(s) through the muffler after an extended period of time sitting outside. I brought it to a machine/engine shop to have an assessment done on it. They suggested all of the exhaust valves be replaced due to pitting and possibly the valve seats if they couldn't be cut to seal properly. The intake valves and seats are believed to be in good enough condition to clean up and reuse. All stem seals are recommended to be replaced. The valve guides were found to be in good condition. There were no cracks found in the head Resurfacing the deck is recommended The above needed repairs were expected. The main reason I brought it in was to make sure it was crack free. It's a core to work with that's crack free, but its going to need some work. These heads are probably $2,500+ from Thermo King, so even if you have to invest $300 to $500 in repairs, you're still ahead of the cost of a new one. The TK3.70 is built off the Yanmar 3TNV70 footprint, so this should work with any 3TNV70, but I can't guarantee it. Thermo King is known to have small alterations done to Yanmar engines to keep it "exclusive" to Thermo King to keep it a very expensive captive market.
