Description: Collection Jar Part No. 614718 Fits Thomas Industries Oil-Vac Model 917-229 Oil Suction Pump The jar is in good serviceable condition with a few scratches and what appears to be a paint smear. The scratches and paint smear are visible in the pictures. Originally, a lid covered the collection jar. A vacuum pump connected to a fitting in the lid, and another fitting attached to a length of plastic tubing. When the pump was running, it pulled a vacuum on the jar, and liquid could be sucked up the plastic tubing and collected in the jar. At one time, Part No. 614924 was offered by Thomas Industries as a replacement for Part No. 614718. Now, it seems that neither replacement jar is available. This is an original part removed from service when the pump was repurposed. The top of the jar has a diameter of about 5-¾ inches, and it's about 6-½ inches tall. The type of plastic is not marked on the jar, but it may be? polycarbonate. As it was originally part of an oil extraction system, it should be? compatible with petroleum products.
