Description: Three coins found in a Civil War knapsack. One is from the U.S., another is from France, and the third one is from Great Britain.British coin is a Victoria Penny dated 1863, the French one is a Napoleon III five cent coin dated 1864, and the U.S. coin is a 2 cent 1864 unit. All were found in a donated knapsack to our S.C. Civil War Museum years past. The British and French coins appear to have been scratched frequently as is often the case with Camp Sutlers checking a coin's validity during the years of struggle. No returns.
