The main stone treatment is clarity enhanced, making it more attractive, but the marcasites are the outstanding stones in the brooch. The set is perfect for Christmas occasions and can be a great gift for loved ones. The era is 1997. It was made in the United States. I've owned it for 27 years and it looks like it's brand new yet. Of course, I only use it for my Christmas Eve birthday and then on Christmas day. Every time I wore it I received many compliments.
