During the Roaring ‘20s, the factory had shifts working around the clock, producing the elegant glassware that was much in demand. Tiffin had a reputation for being a better quality product; this was attributable to the skill of its employees and their devotion to creating glassware of high perfection. The Depression caused the closure of many competing glassmakers, but Tiffin was able to profitably survive. It continued to manufacture wares that had mass appeal and high quality. The American glassware industry went through consolidation and then the buying public began spending more of their tableware dollars on products made from other materials. After bankruptcy, sale of the company, then sale of assets, the Tiffin, OH factory finally closed its doors in 1980. TOURAINE This rose etching was offered on a variety of crystal pieces.
