Description: I found this tintype photograph in the contents of an old trunk in an estate I purchased in York, Maine. It is a picture of a young Victorian women dressed in what appears to be her Sunday Best Victorian outfit holding a parasol. The background has a wonderful column and a fancy framed picture on the wall. The most interesting (and granted sad part) is what was written on the envelope the tin type was in. Aunt Ellen Emmonswith parasol died shortlyafter this was taken at age of twenty whooping coughcaught from my brother Flora Mac Karbar??? friend of my mother It exemplifies other generations have had its challenges regarding contagious illnesses. The picture measures approximately 2 1/2 x 3 3/4 inches. I would consider its condition fair to good. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
