Description: TRAILWISE SKI HUT (Berkeley, CA) Vintage Rare Classic Iconic Early Label Goose Down Mummy Sleeping Bag. Estate find. Uncleaned as found in good overall used condition with no foul smells, rips, holes or tears. Normal wear from use and age. Conmar Zipper works great. Clean inside. The outer bottom of the bag has a stain / dirt marking as shown. The bag measures 72" to the neckline and 80" in total length. 25" wide near the top, 20" at the middle and 15" wide near the end. When the bag is laying flat and allowed to properly loft up it has an average of 4.5" of loft. The care tag label has been removed by the previous owner. The original carry bag was not found or included but comes with an Eddie Bauer stuff sack. The bag has been stored loose and should always be stored that way. The bag while stuffed inside the Eddie Bauer stuff sack weighs 2 lbs 12 oz. Great for the collection / display props / use. Before Sierra Designs, North Face and others there was the SKI HUT which was the focal point of the local outdoor scene and formed in 1935. TRAILWISE formed in the early 1950's and Mr. Rudolf (and Allen Steck) were given stellar honors in 1992 as among the gear industry's twelve "greatest pioneers". The SKI HUT was a training ground for many individuals who would become the second-generation leaders of the outdoor industry. Those people included Bob Swanson, George Marks, Peter Noone, Kate Larramendy, John Schelling, Justus Bauschinger and Allen Steck.
