Description: One late Mk1 Triumph 2000 centre console vinyl base cover / pad In good used condition. An opportunity to obtain a good original cover in black! These covers are generally damaged due to age and use. Fits around the gearlever selector on auto gearbox models. Black padded vinyl Triumph part no. 711641 Fitted to all Mk1 models, including the 2.5 PI from comm no. 60,000. This cover will not fit MK2 models due to the shape. Earlier Mk1 models had either red, blue or black 'unpadded' base covers. The narrow section of vinyl at the base of the circular cut out is intact, although the hard board base at this point is slightly weakened, probably due to careless removal at some point, although this will not be apparant when correctly fitted! No tears to the vinyl, but a couple of very minor indentations due to storage. The plastic illuminated gearlever position indicator is normally held into the cover by staples, which was a very poor design. The staples often come loose as they have very little grip. The indicator was loose on this cover (please see the pictures), so I have removed the staples. The indicator can be refixed with new staples (very shallow ones to prevent them from penetrating the vinyl), or preferably by two sided tape (I can do this with tape for any buyer if required). I have highlighted the minor marks in the vinyl in the photos. Overall, it is in very good used condition. In my experience, original items are far superior than after market or remanufactured items relative to quality and fit.
