See below for details. The Uberti Birdshead is the ideal concealable revolver for today’s Western enthusiast. The Bird’s Head grip design has been incorporated into Uberti’s Cattleman series of 1873 Single Action Army revolvers in both standard and Stallion designs. They are available in various barrel lengths and calibers.The Bird’s Head grip was originally designed for Colt Derringers in the 1850s. In 1877, Colt incorporated the distinctive and comfortable grip style into full-frame revolvers called Bird’s Head Colts.~~~~~oNE-PIECE (nO SCREWHOLE) STYLETHIS AUCTION IS FOR OUR ONE-PIECE (NO SCREWHOLE) STYLE GRIPS. SEE BELOW. ********A Choice for Every User! Two-Piece grips, in addition to a visible screw, have a grip pin installed in the grip frame to help hold them in place. One-Piece grips (grips with no visible screw) use a spacer between the panels, with no screw and no grip pin. Our grips will interchange and work on either style of grip frame. See below. One-Piece style grips (i.e., grips which do not have a visible screwhole in the grips) incorporate a user installed spacer (included with the grips) between the grip panels, as seen on many of the early Colts. This results in a rock-tight fit, without the need of a screw. Preferred by many collectors for their clean lines and traditional look, One-Piece style grips are removed by removing the three backstrap screws, and pulling the grip and backstrap backwards. Reinstallation is in reverse order. Our One-Piece style grips will work on either style gripframe (either One-Piece or Two-Piece style grip frames). Alternatively, our Two-Piece style grips (i.e., grips with a visible screw) offer the superior convenience of quick grip removal. Unlike with One-Piece grips, the backstrap need not be removed to remove the grips for cleaning and maintenance of the revolver. Our Two-Piece grips include a free Conversion kit (allowing their use on One-Piece style frames) which replaces the need for a grip pin and is actually a stronger design, and allows the grips to lock up tight, allowing no movement. This requires no modification to your revolver and gives you the advantage of the ease of maintenance of Two-Piece grips, while preserving the integrity of your revolver in original factory condition.
