Description: Arizona Custom GripsUBERTI SAA(SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVERS)~ Exclusive ~ MAGNA-TUSK™Aged STAG GRIPSSimulated Stag milled out of a solid block of Magna-Tusk, denser and heavier than regular Ivory or Stag. See below for details.~~~~~two-PIECE (with SCREWHOLE) STYLETHIS AUCTION IS FOR OUR TWO-PIECE (SCREWHOLE) STYLE GRIPS. SEE BELOW.********ONE-PIECE VS. TWO-PIECE STYLE GRIPS:Note: Two-Piece style grips incorporate a visible screw and screwhole, allowing easy and quick removal for cleaning or maintenance of your revolver. One-Piece style grips do not use a screw but instead use an internal spacer. We sell both types. Both styles are traditional and historical designs and both were originally used on early Colts, so it is a matter of personal preference. Both styles of our grips will interchange and work on either style of grip frame, no matter how your revolver is currently set up. See below.One-Piece style grips (i.e., grips which do not have a visible screwhole in the grips) incorporate a user installed spacer (which is included with the grips) between the grip panels, as seen on many of the early Colts. The spacer supplied with your grips is sent unmounted to ensure optimum fit with your revolver, with simple, quick installation which takes about one minute or so per panel. Fully illustrated instructions are included. This results in a rock-tight fit, without the need of a screw. Preferred by many collectors for their clean lines and traditional look. One-Piece style grips are removed by removing the three backstrap screws, and pulling the grip and backstrap backwards. Reinstallation is in reverse order. Alternatively, our Two-Piece style grips (i.e., grips with a visible screw and screwhole) offer the superior convenience of quick grip removal. Our grips include a free Conversion Kit, allowing their use on revolvers that are currently set up for One-Piece style grips that do not have a grip pin. The Conversion Kit replaces the need for a grip pin and is actually a stronger design, and allows the grips to lock up tight on the frame, allowing no movement. This requires no modification to your revolver and gives you the advantage of the ease of maintenance of Two-Piece grips, while preserving the integrity of your revolver in original factory condition. Two-Piece style grips were also used on many of the early Colts, and are a traditional and iconic historical design, offering a distinctive look and convenience preferred by many collectors.Fully illustrated, detailed instructions are included with each set of grips. 06302300~~~~~WHAT THESE WILL FIT(Please read this entire section carefully in order to make sure you get the correct grips): These WILL FIT any of the UBERTI Single Action Army style revolvers, with the standard sized SAA “plowhandle” grip frame, which measures around 3-1/16” to 3-1/8” tall, depending on how you hold your ruler, tape, or caliper. These WILL NOT fit Uberti gripframes that are around 3-3/8” tall (such as Taylor & Co.’s Gunfighter or Gunfighter Defender, Taylor’s Cattleman 44 Mag., Cimarron’s Bad Boy, the El Patron Grizzly Paw, the Uberti Callahan, etc). You can locate these in our store. Please contact us if you cannot find what you need and we will be happy to help you. UBERTI FRAME VARIATIONS -- IMPORTANT!*PLEASE NOTE: Over the years Uberti has used multiple variations of gripframes on their SAA style revolvers, and they are not interchangeable. IF your revolver has a two-digit code inside a small rectangular box (as shown in the second picture in this listing), or if your revolver alternatively is marked with Roman numerals (i.e., “XXX” or “XXIV”), please send that code to us. If after a careful inspection you find that your revolver does not have the code (which many of the newer revolvers do not), you do not need to send the code. What these WILL NOT FIT: These WILL NOT FIT any revolvers from other makers (such as Pietta, Armi San Marco, Colt, Ruger, etc.). Also, these will NOT fit revolvers using a gripframe that is not the standard “plowhandle” shape, such as the Bisley, the Birdshead, the Thunderer, Thunderball, or the Lightning style gripframes, nor any of the Remington style revolvers such as the 1858, 1875, or 1890. Please take a careful look at the shape of your gripframe. These are for the “plowhandle” style revolvers only.04102300 A note on the Italian-produced Revolvers: The Italian firms, located in Northern Italy, have been making SAA style revolvers now for well over a half century, and have made a huge number of makes and models and grip frame profiles with varying configurations over the years. Vastly superior to standard bonded ivory or stag found on most factory and other aftermarket grips, Magna-Tusk™ is capable of withstanding the heaviest recoil and impact, and is the toughest alternative grip material available today, while still retaining the pristine look of real ivory or stag. It is rock-solid, stable, and water, chemical, and oil resistant. It is flame and heat resistant, and is entirely void-free, with over 10x the strength, durability, and impact resistance of alternative materials. Unlike with real ivory or stag, there is no routine care and maintenance involved, with no danger of it drying out and cracking if not maintained properly or if left in the heat. It is filled with premium natural compounds to produce outstanding aesthetic properties and mechanical performance. When aged with our natural aging process, it takes on the equivalent of a 100-year-old patina, with subtle grain details which many experts cannot tell apart from the real thing. In addition, the material has a fine grain structure, which holds intricate detail for carvings, artistic relief work, etc., found on many historic grips. 082920 About Our Aging Process: We go to great efforts to ensure that our Aged Ivory or Stag not only looks similar to, but in fact looks identical to the real thing. Our Magna-Tusk blanks will produce an aged Ivory grip unlike any other material made today. Our aged grips feature an authentic aged patina, just like the originals, with a process incorporating concentrated U.V. light (the essential aging property in natural sunlight), along with a developer/control agent that is put on the grips to carefully control U.V. absorption, in a sealed, high-oxygen environment to accelerate the natural aging process. Through this aging process, these grips become beautifully mottled, variegated, and weathered just like old, antique Ivory, and incorporate other authentic details found on original old Ivory as seen on many of the revolvers which belonged to gunfighters and lawmen of the Old West. As with real aged Ivory, Magna-Tusk develops a variegated patina due to its authentic grain structure, and natural aging produces an authentic appearance and genuine patina which extends into and below the surface. Not only does this give it the appearance of authenticity and depth, but this surface will not chip, crack, or peel like a superficially applied coating. With Magna-Tusk aged grips, most experts cannot tell them apart from a decades-old or even a centuries-old original. While the quality difference is somewhat noticeable in the photos, the difference is even more apparent when seen and handled in person. Many of our repeat sales are made by the very customers we sell to, who take their grips to the range, where our grips are immediately seen and noticed by others. If you are interested in ordering grips for a Brace of pistols, please order both sets together, and we will ensure a better matchup when selecting pairs. Dense, heavy, and solid, Magna-Tusk grips are in a class all their own. With our exclusive aging process, these grips are outstanding right out of the box, and will continue to improve over time. The more these grips are handled and used, the better they look! 082920 The photo used is a stock photo (a sample pair). Yours will appear similar to these. Customer satisfaction is important to us – we guarantee your complete satisfaction with every purchase!!
