Description: Warm greetings from Japan. Thank you very much for visiting our listing. Honua is a brand founded in October 2013 by Mac Harada, who moved to Hawaii in 2006 and has worked for three ukulele manufacturers, KoAloha, Kanile'a, and Imua (a Hawaii-made brand designed and planned by Shinji Takahashi of Seilen). The brand was founded with the desire to provide customers with high-quality ukuleles at an affordable price. Each ukulele is carefully crafted by hand using carefully selected materials in Waimanalo, Oahu. Honua means earth in Hawaiian. This ukulele is based on the honua concert model, with an abalone rosette, head inlay, and position marks, an additional side port, and a mother-of-pearl rice ball-shaped position mark on the 10th fret. The side port (side sound hole) allows the player to hear the sound of their own instrument clearly, which is especially useful when playing in an ensemble with multiple players.
