Description: This Ultimate 5101 NVRAM is being replaced by the newer Dual CE version to cover more machines including Williams System 3 & 4. Once the current stock has been sold, the new version will take over. If you would like the newer version now, the item number for it is... /itm/326032229936 This ultimate upgrade replaces the 5101 or equivalent SRAM fitted to Bally Classic, (Dash 17, 35 & 133), Stern Classic MPU-100, Gottlieb System 80, Zaccaria Generation 1 and Williams System 5 thru 7 games. All the boards except the Stern MPU-200 boards, require 1 x 5101 NVRAM. The MPU-200 boards will need the standard Stern 5101 NVRAM. (see below). Comes supplied with a 22 pin IC socket as well. Due to possible timing issues, this NVRAM is no longer recommended for System 3 & 4 CPU boards. The new Dual CE Version, as above, now works with these boards. By upgrading to NVRAM you will never have to replace the batteries again, and neither will you have to worry about battery leakage which can cause £100's of damage to repair or replace the board and/or components. Once upgraded, the NVRAM will retain all your settings and High Scores for many years to come. The Ultimate NVRAM has two mode/memory selections via an on-board jumper. This allows the user to select any one of two user set configurations such as Free Play or Non-Free Play; Normal Mode or Tournament mode, (for those games where fitted); Easy play or Difficult play. The two choices are as endless as any two user chosen configurations allowed from the game adjustment settings. The Bally and Stern Classic games, (Socket U8), and Zaccaria Games, (socket IC7), were supplied with the SRAM chip already fitted in a socket so they are 'plug & play' with no soldering required. All Williams System 5 Thru 7 series and Gottlieb System 80 games were shipped from the factory with the SRAM chip soldered directly to the board. This will need to be removed before installing the new NVRAM so some soldering will be required. On the Williams boards, the SRAM is located at U19 and on the Gottleib System 80 Boards, at Z5. As all of the Williams and Gottleib boards will require the existing SRAM to be desoldered and removed from the board, if you do not have proper equipment or experience to desolder ICs and install a socket, this mod may not be for you as some of these boards have delicate traces. Please be aware of this and seek technical advice before purchasing the 5101 NVRAM module. Unfortunately, we are unable carry out this work. If you have any doubts before ordering, please message us with the name and manufacturer of your machine, and the part number printed on the SRAM chip. We will check and confirm if this upgrade will work. The Ultimate NVRAM is only available in the 5101, 6116 or 6264 format.
