Judging by the sharp base and the scrolled hook at the top, this was probably stuck into the ground or wood and used to hand a sign, flower basket, or lantern from. Interesting piece of history probably spared for its art and craftsmanship The item is in excellent antique condition. There is very little rust on this piece. Age appropriate surface wears and imperfections are present.
