Description: This listing is for an Unusual 1950s Green Mexican Embroidered Tourist Jacket Deer Scene Size M/L. This is an iconic Mexican jacket that was made for the tourists visiting Mexico in the 1940s to the 1960s. It is a beautiful Kelly green colored wool felt with lovely embroidered villagers, cacti, agave, house, sombreros, rug and horseshoes on the front and collar. The back of the jacket is an unusual scene of a large black buck and a white doe with flora and cacti and village houses. I have never seen a jacket with this type of scene on the back featuring large animals. This is a museum quality jacket for those collectors looking for something unusual. The other interesting feature is that this jacket is a larger jacket which could fit a size Medium to Large. It has turquoise cross stitching around the collar, front, bottom, pockets, and cuffs. The jacket is circa 1950s and is unbranded. This jacket is in beautiful condition with no holes, stains, or missing threads, and the embroidery is incredible. Any dark areas are shadows from photographing. These jackets, meant to be worn open, always look great with jeans, skirts, and especially, with the vintage Mexican circle skirts. I have a collection of over 140 of these jackets that I have amassed over the last 35 years. I have really enjoyed wearing these jackets over the years, and at this point in my life, I have decided to sell off my whole collection. I selected only jackets that were in impeccable condition. My jackets have been stored in a cedar lined, cool storage space to prevent any damage from sunlight or insects. I have collected every color and design imaginable.
