Description: Early Original 1/6th Plate Antique Daguerreotype Photo, Older Woman Wearing Cameo, Early Bonnet, & Very Unusual "STAR" Collar, Taken c.1845 DESCRIPTION: Nice early antique cased daguerreotype image taken during the early days of popular daguerreotype photography, c1845. I apologize for the reflected light/camera in my scans, obviously not part of the actual photo itself, which is clear and particularly high quality. THIS ONE HAS PARTICULARLY UNUSUAL CLOTHES. It has not been opened or unsealed. NICE RED VELVET PLUSH. Leather is fancy gold trimmed. This dag has great, early mid-1800's subject matter. Nice seated antebellum pose and appearance. 1/6 plate size, in an early plate brass mat, set in its original leather case. Has both parts of the case, but the original hinge is split as often happens with age. Can be repaired. STILL THE ORIGINAL CASE THAT THE PHOTO HAS BEEN IN FOR 175+ LONG YEARS!!! THIS IS A VERY INTERESTING, GREAT EARLY EARLY DAG!! VERY UNUSUAL IMAGE AND VERY NICE TO FIND SUCH AN EARLY, VERY CLEAR, & NEAR PERFECT ANTIQUE DAGUERREOTYPE IMAGE AND CASE !!!
