This compass is in beautiful preowned working condition. Great and rare 100% original item from WW1 / WW2 in functional condition and with a beautiful patina! I have not tried to polish or use a tarnish remover. Such compasses would be worn in both WW1 and WW2. The compass is made of brass and is simple in design, marked on the back with USCE.
