REPRODUCTION NOTE: In order to display this slide for sale, we scanned the image area separately from the lettered frame with the identification. We then inverted & superimposed the image area on the lettered frame so as to present the item in recognizable form with the identifying text above the image. In reality, the identifying text is below the image. When projected, they retain their image integrity. These were designed to be projected for a second or two during training & service for quick recognition by naval aviators, submariners and surface vessel personnel to prevent accidental attack on friendly vessels or correct attack on enemy vessels. The resolution of the image varies from slide to slide as the photographs were taken at varying distances from aircraft or ships..
