Description: U.S.S Saratoga (CV 60) -USA Made Ceramic Painted & Footed Ashtray 4.5"in. 10oz. 4.5" x 4.5" x 1"in. Tall10.1 ounces Weight Invictus Gallus Gladiator on the banner SIGNED Made IN. U.S.A. Designed with x5 platform feet unlike most ashtrays, and were probably more in place to protect the under base during firing, so it stayed nice and clean. CONDITION: Great. Gold tone ringing around the inside edge of the bowl. Some of this has overtime blended, and made a smudged look above the line, going all around. Shows some peppering from the firing process. There are x3 very tiny blue dot stains on the upper right edge in the bowl, and one more dot like these but in the cigarette well above. Some very tiny scratches to the left of the Invictus banner. NO major cracks. Only chips I saw were on the bottom base, at the corners tips. No crazing that I could see in the bowl. One line that looks like crazing is on the top left in the middle of the cigarette wells trio. Some slight dirt wear on the feet bottoms. USS Saratoga was decommissioned August 20, 1994, and towed to many places before awaiting a fate to the scrapyard for only 1 penny. Many deployments during its time alive were to the Mediterranean Sea, as well as the Caribbean Sea, Atlantic (&Western) Ocean. From April 1972 to February 1973 it assisted in the Vietnam War, and later again in Operation Desert Storm
