Description: Utagawa Toyokuni vintage book Japanese Art, painting, kabuki, actors Kodansha Edition art books My late grandmother loved Japanese sculpture and art. A friend of hers gave this and other Japanese art books to her. This small volume was probably printed in the 1940s or 1950s. Toyokuni lived from 1769-1825. Toyokuni is known for his realistic depictions of kabuki theather and of actors acting. He also did Shunga erotic art work. His work was tremendously popular. Book measures 6.75 inches tall x 4.5 inches wide x .25 inches thick. Light normal handling to cover. Edge & corner wear to cover. Yellowing to cover. A scribble in pen on back cover.
