Description: Vintage Vaughan Senior Official Scout Ax. Painted gold and red. The head doesn't appear to have cracks but it it is painted so buy at your own risk. Edge seems fairly decent but not sharp. Head is not seated tight and has play/shifts when moved and needs work / needs to be re-seated properly. It's out of my skill set as a seller. There appears to be two metal shims in the top of the axe handle in the head. I did not take this apart so I am unsure of how this all comes together. Hickory handle inscription nearly indiscernible on handle. What I could make out--- "Green & White / Lapierre" "GOOD GRADE HICKORY - 28 IN BOYS AXE / #298 FOR 2 1/4 LB". I couldn't find any information on this. The handle seems solid doesn't appear to have any cracks but again....I'm not an expert on axe handles and it's vintage. Comes with metal vintage axe guard.
