Description: Very Early William Henry Harrison Northwest Territory Congressman 1799 Newspaper Offered is an original, historic, & collectible old newspaper: COLUMBIAN CENTINEL, Boston, Dec. 18, 1799 * William Henry Harrison * Very early mention (26 yrs. old) * Northwest Territory Congressman The top of page 2 has a brief report headed: "Delegate To Congress" noting: "Mr. W. H. Harrison having produced his credentials as delegate to Congress from the N.W. Territory, the same were referred to the Committee of Elections." This is very early mention of Harrison in a newspaper, who would distinguish himself in the War of 1812 and become President in 1841. He was just 26 years old at the time. The front page has two reward ads, one is for a deserted soldier and the other runaway ship workers.
