Description: VERY NICE 1940S VINTAGE PYREX CLEAR GLASS #501 REFRIGERATOR DISH WITH CLEAR LID FYI: The Clear Glass #500 series refrigerator storage dishes were first manufactured in the late 1940s. These “Oven-Refrigerator” Sets came to be known as #500 sets or #500 series dishes. Capacities were given as 1-1/2 cup (#501), 1-1/2 pint (#502), and 1-1/2 quart (#503). It is said the medium size was designed both to fit a pound of butter and to fit in a woman's hand. Lids were designed to accommodate stacking in either the normal or as pace-saving inverted position. FEATURED HERE: A Clear Glass “Fridgie” #501, a must-have for any collector of the very early mid-century PYREX. It is perfect for display in a Retro Kitchen or for everyday use.
