Description: These sleigh bells are very old. I have copy and pasted some information regarding these bells, where they were made, and who made them. East Hampton, Connecticut: Barton clan Captain William Barton II (1740-1793) Possibly W B maker's mark on petal bells. William Barton III (1762-1849) W B or B W maker's mark on petal bells Hubbard Barton (1797-1860) Possibly the W B and/or H B maker's mark on petal bells. The oldest sleigh bells the average person is likely to find typically date from the late 1700s through about 1845. Very few -- perhaps 1-2% -- of all of the antique sleigh bells on the market are this old. Notice a few of the bells are damaged. I specifically found damage on three bells. The photos show the damage. The largest bell has the most damage. There are 13 graduated bells on this leather strap. One is so damaged that I did not count it. They are mostly marked WB. I took a picture of each individual bell. The leather strap that the bells are attached to is in poor condition. Thanks for looking!
