Description: Vietnam ERA Very Rare Early Blank Firing Adapter for 556 Screw on #3013015 Very seldom seen screw on BFA. You had to remove the prong or birdcage hider and use a wrench to put it on. We had these in the Navy Seabees up until the 1990s then received the clamp on versions. Scarce is the word. Drawing number on the side: 3013015 Measures 1.75 in length, .75 across flat to flat, threaded hole .46, across the edges .85 (note this is the same measurements as the birdcage) Perhaps this was designed with the thought a bayonet would be in use during training?) gas hole .08 Look at photos.
