Description: Vietnam War 7-Flag Safe Conduct Pass circa 1967, For Surrendering Viet Cong Signed By Pres. Thieu, 'No Seal' Version These so-called "safe conduct passes" were dropped by the thousands over Viet Nam, some times after B-52 "carpet bombing' missions for the survivors, and went through many, many different versions throughout The long war. The first picture above shows the front and reverse of the pass and by it's "7 Flag" design it was printed after 1967. The reverse shows the South Vietnamese president's signature, this version is the one without his official seal, and there are messages in several languages, since there were forces from many different nations that they might want to surrender to. Basically, guarantees that the holder of the pass will be treated well by their captors. After reading some sources on the long and complicated history of this sort of pass, I found the best source is a site called 'psywarrior dot com'. The printing is of high quality and appears to match photos of authentic archived Safe Conduct passes. inv.2
