Description: This original vintage lithograph illustration is full size measuring 7"x10", single sided print on thin paper. Pre-owned. Originally created in the mid 1800’s as a cruel tradition these “Valentine’s” were used through the early 1900’s. They were often sent anonymously and quickly discarded by the recipient. The fact that there are still some in existence and in such great shape is quite astonishing. This print is by artist Charles J. Howard who signed many of his drawings with “H” and produced these cartoons between 1880 and 1910. Paper shows wear from age. Inspect photos for condition.
