Vintage 1940 jtd.BROWN felt, labeled Brazil 17" lady doll (Perotti, LENCI style)

Description: South American charmer.... Click to enlarge Charming, fully labeled, 17" tall, all stuffed felt, jointed lady doll as decribed on page 204, "LENCI~ The History & the Dolls"-Lazenby. Possibly produced by Joao Perotti, (formerly from Lenci, Italy) she has joints at her shoulders and hips with flat feet to stand and beautifully molded and painted features with side-glancing brown eyes with high-lights, long eyelashes, brows, pretty mouth and cheek blush. This dark brown-skinned sweetheart has individually stitched fingers with separate thumbs, black hair covered by her printed headscarf and holds her woven basket (which is filled with felt fruit, flowers and lots of felt leaves) firmly attached atop her head. Circa 1941, she also has two complete early, (unusual) paper labels: HOLZER & CIA /S. Paulo-Industria Brasileira/etc. "Mariposa" etc. still firmly attached to the front of her cotton underwear trimmed with dark blue felt. She wears a long dark blue felt skirt decorated with lots of stitched-on, colorful felt flowers and leaves and pretty embroidery. She wears a matching dark blue sash or shawl with similar appliques and pink felt trim over a wonderful gold organdy blouse with puff sleeves, matching lace trimmed apron with colorful felt flowers tied around her waist and brown felt shoes. She is in very good overall condition, very clean and bright, no holes, no damages, no fading, no repairs (felt shoes have some wear) and no odors as she is from a smoke free home. (loc.
