Vintage 1950's Astatic D-104 crystal microphone w F11 adapter & E6G desk stand

You are looking at a unique Astatic model D-104 crystal microphone from the 1950's that comes with a period Astatic F-11 adapter and period Astatic E6G desk stand shown. Pic # 2 is from my 1945 microphone catalog and shows the mics specs and cost. This is a slightly newer model of course but the design was basically the same as were the sound characteristics. The D-104 was manufactured by Astatic in Conneaut, Ohio and was to be used as a public address mic as it's non-directional. It was a very popular design for this company and they continued to make the D-104 for many decades retaining the same overall style but this was a D-104 with the later model glued on aluminum badge. This earlier version has the riveted badge. A very cool piece in very good cosmetic condition that would be excellent for display or prop purposes. The mic still has the original element but is currently non-working. You can always replace the element with a newer D-104 element if you plan on using the mic. The polished chrome body has just lite scratches but free of any corrosion or dents. I would rate the cosmetic condition a very conservative 8 out of 1 - 10 and the Astatic badge is completely legible as well. The mic comes with an F-11 adapter that is wired correctly and comes with a short 14 inch cable that is soft, pliable and free of damage. Very clean and has a vintage Cannon female XLR connector. The mic comes with a stand in which to display the mic and the stand is just a few years newer than the mic being a 1960's model. The stand is a 1950's era Astatic detachable type with a stock painted metal base and painted wood handle in a black finish. The handle actually twists off the base with a half turn making it easy for the user to walk around with the mic in his hand and the riser acts as a handle for the mic. The base makes for a good stable platform as well. Many mic manufacturers back in the day made desk stands similar to this model with the aluminum base and detachable wood handle. The stand is just as nice as the mic and still has the original rubber pad on the bottom. The measurements with stand and mic are 12 inches in height X 5 inches wide. A very cool piece that will draw attention anywhere it's shown. As with all my vintage microphones for sale... I can promise you will be happy with it for the price paid.
