Description: Vintage Correct Parts is proud to offer, for your consideration, A fantastic Vintage 1956 - 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard "Burst" PAF Conversion!!! Thanks for looking! We are incredibly proud to offer this SMOKING 56/59 Conversion. This is an absolutely incredible Les Paul Standard. Simply put, this is the best Les Paul Standard we have EVER played. It will hold court and go toe-to-toe with ANY Burst or PAF goldtop on the planet. It has THEE thing. The intangible, magical, late 50's Les Paul Standard THING. The vintage pickups in this guitar ROAR - or roll off the volume and they can be very touch-sensitive. At 8lbs 1oz, fully dressed, it's also one of the lightest Bursts we've come across. Please read on for the full scoop! This is an original late 1956 Les Paul Standard that was converted to humbuckers and re-finished in the late 1960s. Most of the parts on this guitar are original to 1956. The refinish is so old it fully glows under blacklight. It has an incredible 2-piece flame top. Slightly off-center and FULL of 3-D flame and mineral streak. The brazilian board is dark and porous. The good stuff. The legendary stuff! There are a few random dings here and there, an old and nearly invisible headstock crack repair (not a full break), there is one ding in the back of the neck behind 12th fret, some buckle rash, etc... all the things you WANT to see in a Les Paul of this age. Signs that it has been played and loved for it's 68 year life! If you're in the market for a "Burst" or a PAF Goldtop - then you know where the prices have gone - they might as well be a part of the housing market now. The next best - and only true way - to get all of the look, feel, vibe and most importantly the SOUND of a 50's PAF Les Paul is to "convert" one to a "Burst". The 1956 Standards are the most ideal candidates as they used the same stoptail piece, ABR-1 bridge and very likely the same billets of wood that were being used just a year and change later when the "Burst" was introduced to the world. Great conversions simply don't come around anymore... 50's goldtops have gotten too scarce and valuable to convert, so grab this one now before it's gone - we'll never have another!
