Given the movement's relatively weak power reserve and considering its unknown service history a complete overhaul is likely long overdue and recommended.***********This seldom seen vintage 1960's French made Belair day-date has a uniquely aged dial. The lume emits a faint, short-lived glow on only the hands after being exposed to bright light. The all stainless steel case shows honest wear with signs of oxidation. The outer edge of the case back is stamped "SHOCKPROTECTED | STAINLESS STEEL" with "719" stamped in the center. The inside of the case back is stamped "BELAIR WATCH CO" followed by "FRANCE." The crystal needs to be replaced. The 25 jewels patented "B" stamped PUW 1464 automatic movement with semi-quickset date function keeps accurate time with both the day and date wheels rolling over as they should. The semi-quickset date function works flawlessly by manually rolling over a new date and then moving the hour hand repeatedly between the 20 and 24 hour marks until the desired date has been reached. After recently winding the non-screwdown crown 39 full revolutions the movement had an approximate 16 hour power reserve period. The crown winds smoothly. Given the movement's relatively weak power reserve and considering its unknown service history a complete overhaul is likely long overdue and recommended. This watch measures approximately 35 mm excluding the crown, approximately 38 mm including the crown and approximately 19 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the mid-case, is approximately 8.5 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 11.5 mm. This watch comes on a period correct Speidel U.S.A. stretch bracelet. A complete overhaul is recommended. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch.
