Description: WOW! This is original Cordo-Hyde from the 1960’s. When natural beads became popular during the Hippie era this was the cord of choice for stringing, clay, bone, horn, wood, mother of pearl, abalone, and other natural materials. This stuff is so strong that it is impossible to break. It looks like leather but so much easier to work with. On the original package it says "made of long staple sea-island cotton impregnated for longer wear." There is some kind of stiffener in it that when you stretch it, it becomes stiff enough to easily string anything on it. But then just as easily, it becomes limp and easy to wear. This is the best stuff that we ever found to string naturals. You will love to work with this. The color is BROWN and you get 40 feet of cord in this group. In the early days beads were strung on strings and stones were packed in paper, so they may have rubbed against each other and have very, very tiny nicks. I usually throw in an extra stone or bead, just in case there is one that is not quite perfect. We sell old stock that has never been used, but it is never going to look like brand new or imported items.
