Vintage 1960's Electro Voice 636 dynamic microphone old prop display w stand # 2

Description: Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. You are looking at a quality 2nd generation dynamic microphone manufactured by Electro Voice manufactured during the early 1960's to late 1960's. This 636 model mic was first manufactured in the early 1950's but this was the 2st generation 636. It comes with the newer cast iron desk stand shown. The 636 was a rugged affordable dynamic microphone that generally held up very well over the decades and was used for a wide variety of purposes. Pic # 2 shows this very 2nd generation mic in a 1960's E.V catalog along with a couple other models. I call this the Jack Ruby mic because this was his favorite model microphone when he spoke to his audience in his Dallas strip club night after night as seen in pic # 3. Jack Ruby shot and killed Lee Harvey Oswald of course sealing his legacy in American history. The name has stuck since I learned of his preference for this microphone. It should be noted that this 636 has a missing element and should be used for display, prop or repair purposes only. The wiring inside is till present so a new element would have this mic working great again with a little work. The polished chrome housing has held up pretty good overall with typical cosmetic wear. Just a few tiny scuff marks but some heavier pitting on the lower pistol grip as seen in the pics provided. No dents, fractures or engravings. It has an impressive luster still. The on / off switch and joint mechanism work just fine. A very good 636 for display. The threads for both the cable and stand are in perfect condition...no issues. I would rate this mic a conservative 6 + on a scale of 1 - 10 physically speaking. MICROPHONE STAND SHOWN IS PART OF THIS SALE... The stand is a newer Chinese model with a heavy cast iron base providing a stable platform for the E.V 636 mic. The stand has original paint that's free of any scratches, chips, or rust. The 3 inch chrome riser is in very nice shape as well as the 3 original rubber pads on the bottom. The total height with the mic fully raised up plus the stand is 14 inches. The mic can be lowered of course. A very cool accent piece and mid century Americana that will draw attention anywhere it's displayed. As with all my vintage microphones... I can promise you will be happy with it for the price paid. If not...I have a no hassle return policy.
