Vintage 1960's F-111 Aardvark US Air Force Jet Concept Drawing Art Print Photo

Description: Vintage General Dynamics F-111 Aardvark Concept Art This large print measures approximately 20" x 16" and is mounted on rigid board. This example has been hand embellished by the artist. I took a picture of it with a similar concept drawing for the Navy version so you can tell the difference. The General Dynamics F-111 Aardvark was a supersonic, medium-range interdictor and tactical attack aircraft that also filled the roles of strategic nuclear bomber, aerial reconnaissance, and electronic-warfare aircraft in its various versions. Developed in the 1960s by General Dynamics, it first entered service in 1967 with the United States Air Force. The F-111 pioneered several technologies for production aircraft, including variable-sweep wings, afterburning turbofan engines, and automated terrain-following radar for low-level, high-speed flight. Its design influenced later variable-sweep wing aircraft, and some of its advanced features have since become commonplace. It is a really cool piece and I cannot find any other examples. It was acquired through the estate of a retired General Dynamics employee. Piece is not signed or dated. Please see pictures for details and condition.
