Description: This is a vintage bolt-on side view mirror from the inventory of an old, long since shuttered auto salvage yard, the back of the mirror indicates that it was removed from a 1951 Chevy and placed into their parts inventory. This undoubtedly fits a multitude of applications. It's in nice vintage condition. There's a handful of typical superficial pimples in the chrome on the arm and tiny white specks (dust?) under and/or on the glass, examples of which are documented in the photos, and that's about it. The glass has a cool smoky gray tint to it so it looks pretty dark and mysterious in low light. The chrome on the back of the mirror has surface spotting (water spots/patina/etc) and you can polish it if you'd like to do so. The mirror adjusts easily but doesn't flop around. There's a compression type fitting in the ball and socket design and then a screw on the back to adjust the tightness of the mirror so if you want to lock it in place, just turn the screw and it will put compression on the fitting...or loosen it up. Right now it's set just right. You can also adjust the arm separately from the base by turning the large screw underneath. The arm and base have a sprocket design where they mate so if you want to turn the arm to face in any direction, you can do so securely and then just tighten it down and it'll stay put. This was thoughtfully designed for versatility so you can mount it and position it in just about any way that suits your needs. Lastly, there were one of two mounting "grub" screws present as seen in the photos. However, after I took the photos I looked through my hardware inventory and I have included an appropriate thread and length one for the other side though it's an Allen (hex) head and won't match the original slotted screw but then, nobody will ever see it. Anyway, it's all ready for use now! And that' covers it! Just a cool old mirror for a cool authentic look to your project and she'll go home with the highest bidder.
